The facility, part of the MEREP 3 fund, features 687 units ranging from 1 to 30 m², spread across four floors. It was developed through the conversion of a former office building into a modern and sustainable storage space, aiming for a BREEAM "Very Good" environmental certification.

Strategically located within the new Westgate Business Park development, the site offers excellent visibility and accessibility, close to the Brussels E19 ring road, as well as the E40 and R0 highways. It provides easy access to over 1.3 million people within a 20-minute drive.

As part of the project, Mitiska REIM also acquired the offices on the building's top floor, which now house the company’s new corporate headquarters.

Following STORO's next-generation concept, the Groot-Bijgaarden facility offers a fully digital customer experience: online booking and registration, keyless access via mobile app, and fully automated services.

Jorinne De Bruyn, Managing Director of STORO, stated:
"This new facility reflects our strategy to expand the STORO concept across Belgium. With occupancy rates above 85% at our Brecht and Mechelen sites, and strong growth at our recently opened Roeselare location, we are very optimistic about the future. We have three new openings planned over the next 18 months."

Bart Rabaey, Chief Investment Strategy Officer at Mitiska REIM, added:
"The demand for self-storage continues to grow across Europe, in a market that is currently undersupplied. With limited competition, strong user demand, and positive net operating income growth, we believe the coming months will present great investment opportunities, particularly for those with available capital."
